denver_comic_con_logoYou can find both Elisa and I (along with my wife Abbey and baby in the coolest costume ever) at booths in Artist Valley – H11 & H13! We will have lots of awesomely geeky swag and will be signing prints and books all weekend.

In addition to hanging out in Artist Valley, I will be hosting several science panels!

“The Real Science Behind Sci-Fi Blockbusters” – Saturday @ 3:40 pm in Room 603

Learn the real science of space exploration as portrayed in blockbuster films like Wall-E, Gravity, Interstellar, Star Trek, and Star Wars. Find out what these movies got right and not-so-right, and have your questions about space travel answered by our panel of scientists. Special guests include astronomer Dr. Phil Plait (Slate blog Bad Astronomy, Crash Course astronomy series, author of “Death From The Skies!”), research scientist Dr. Bill Farrand (Space Science Institute, Mars Exploration Rover program), and physicist Dr. Gabriel Font-Rodriguez (Professor, United States Air Force Academy). Moderated by Kyle Sanders, host of Super Science Mashup, an outreach program of the Colorado Springs Science Center.

“What Scientists Have Learned Since Jurassic Park” – Sunday @2:30pm in Room 603

“In 1993, Jurassic Park brought dinosaurs to life on the big screen and inspired a new generation of paleontologists. But what we know about dinosaurs has drastically changed since then, with exciting research happening here in Colorado. Our dinosaur experts include: Dr. Julia McHugh (Curator of Paleontology, Museum of Western Colorado), Anthony Maltese (Curator, Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center), Jacob Jett (Fossil Preparator), and paleontology grad students Allison Vitkus and Nicole Ridgwell (CU Boulder). Moderated by Kyle Sanders, host of Super Science Mashup, a program of the Colorado Springs Science Center.”
